HANDMADE & NATURAL PRODUCTS

All the baskets and items we sell are handmade using natural materials. We make our baskets for our online shop every 2-3 months, or take commissions. Due to the nature of these materials, colour variation will occur; the same variety of willow may have a different colour and tone from year to year due to the growing conditions changing each year. Product sizes will vary slightly from the approximate dimensions stated in the listings or commissioned work due to the nature of the materials and processes used. We hope you will appreciate that although we work to specific designs, sizes and styles, that each of our pieces are unique due to the natural materials used and that they are made by hand.

All of our photographs aim to show each product as clearly as possible; however they are for illustrative purposes and colours may appear differently in different lighting conditions. Please note, some items show one example from a batch of baskets, so may not be the exact item you will be purchasing; this is always stated on the listing when this is the case. from Therefore, products purchased may vary slightly from the images on our website.

COURSES

By purchasing a place(s) on any of our courses, you are agreeing to our Terms and Conditions, as listed below. You will ensure that you, or any person you have booked a place for, shall comply with these Terms:

You must be at least 18 years of age or over to attend our courses. All courses listed are subject to availability.

Images used to advertise our courses are for illustrative purposes; the baskets shown are made by the tutors, and the willow varieties (colours) used on the course will vary depending on availability - actual results may vary due to many factors including the participants ability after teaching.

We aim to deliver the course as advertised, but due to the nature of using willow (a natural material), we reserve the right to alter the format when needed (for example, in hot weather we may need to use different techniques as willow dries very quickly in these conditions). Refunds are not given for variances of the course format.

We allow time for everyone to arrive before the advertised start time; please note to will always start promptly at the time advertised, to ensure we can deliver the content. Due to the range of abilities within a group and the use of natural materials, end times are approximate, so please allow extra time when making travel arrangements. Lunch breaks are between 30minutes to 1 hour, to give flexibility if more time is needed for weaving. We endeavour to guide everyone to complete a finished piece by the end of the course, but we can not guarantee this.

Before each course we will send out an email with specific information, so you are prepared and ready for your course; please read this carefully and get in touch with us if you have any questions (info@hopewoodbaskets.co.uk).

Health and Safety

After welcoming you on the workshop, each course will begin with a safety briefing. You must also take responsibility for your own actions and to follow these guidelines - some courses use sharp and dangerous tools, have slippy floors or trip hazards.

Willow weaving is physically active in all area. It can particularly hard on the hands, so is unsuitable for those who suffer from arthritis or other conditions that affect the hands. Courses will involve working at many levels, including  bending down to the floor, working on laps or standing, and working seated at tables. If you have any physical difficulties in any of these areas, we advise you to contact us before booking; some alternative arrangements may be possible but we can not guarantee this.

Cancellation Policy:

All courses are non-transferable, either to other courses or in exchange for gift vouchers. Refunds are only given if we are able to fill the space(s); we will endeavour to advertise the space(s) via our waiting lists and via social media, but we can not guarantee the space(s) will be filled.

There may be circumstances in which we need to postpone the course or change the venue at which workshop is to be held and if we do, we shall advise you of this as soon as we possibly can. If you are unable to attend the new date/venue, or do not wish it attend, we will offer a full refund.

Should there be insufficient numbers for the course to go ahead, it will be cancelled 2 weeks in advance, with participants notified via email and a full refund issued.

In the  event that we (Hopewood Baskets)  have to cancel a course at short notice for reasons beyond our control, such as illness, mechanical breakdown or adverse weather conditions,  we will offer a refund in full. If you would like to attend the course at a later date, we will endeavour (although can not guarantee) to rearrange the workshop to the most popular option amongst all participants.

We regret that in the event of cancellation for any reason by Hopewood Baskets, we are unable to reimburse travel, accommodation or any other expenses you may incur in relation to the cancelled course.

If you book and pay, but do not attend the course, no refund will be given.
